## Agile Manifesto

So what is the Agile Manifesto? The founding document’s preamble reads, “We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it.”

It then lays out the four core values:

- **Individuals and interactions over processes and tools**  
- **Working software over comprehensive documentation**  
- **Customer collaboration over contract negotiation**  
- **Responding to change over following a plan**

Hello colleagues, friends and customers—and a warm embrace to those who are all three. In 2017, organizations of all kinds (including mine) will face the usual challenges of seeking and managing growth; building sustainability into our products and processes; and offering ever-greater value to our employees, prospects and customers.
